🌶️ Fierce Meal, Legendary Taste 😋

Finally I checked Lamprais off my food bucket list. And wow, I must emphasise this iconic Sri Lankan heritage comfort dish does not play small.

At first glance, it’s not exactly love at first sight. Wrapped tight in a banana leaf, compact and aggressive. But once unwrapped, it’s a full-on flavour detonation.

I ordered mine with mutton, and it was rich, bold, heavy in the best way, deeply spiced, unapologetically satisfying, the kind of meal that makes slow down eating.

There’s magical about food cooked in banana leaves. The aroma, moisture, the way flavours infuse, it’s culinary alchemy. Everything inside tastes more complete.

It comes with a small cup of curry gravy on the side. I asked for more because I like my meals flooded in curry. The service crew served a bigger bowl, they understood.

I couldn’t finish it and took home, reheated it the next day and tasted even better. I think they’ve forgot to serve Papadum during the meal, I got a small bag to go.

Kthxbye.

Sri Lankan Cuisine- Aromatic Blend of Spices

Opposite JOJO, beside Matcha Studio by GDC

Sunday night, few people only during dinner hours

Menu very direct to the point

Got chilli icons at the menu, but the food not spicy for me, taste more on sweet side. (Fyi, i'm a medium spicy eater only ). Next time will request to up up the spiciness.

Hot Butter Squid : Big portion, rich ingredients, not oily, texture ok. Have to eat fast fast, orelse it"ll become soggy. Dunno why, but it tasted like Chinese Sotong cuisine to me😆

Lamprais (wrapped banana leaf rice): Rich ingredients, nice, generous portion, mutton very very tender, not smelly, egg round round.

Brinjal Moju: tender brinjal, balanced flavours, vibrant colour. Dunno why, it tasted like dry Bak Kut Teh to me😆

Brown Sugar Appam: Atas level, highly recommended👍👍👍. Thin& crispy crust, fluffy & airy interior, good batter (not overfermentation, so not too sour) , not floury taste somemore, wonderful!!!

Free papadam

Lemon ice very sweet ya

Very reasonable price👍👍👍

Can watch Football match on big screen

Great ventilation, wondering what system did Chaiya uses to block the smells of different spices from the kitchen😎

Friendly staffs

Mari mari
