I've always been curious about the taste of balut, a renowned delicacy among Philippine street foods. Finally, I decided to buy 2 for me & my brother to try.

Balut is often seen being enjoyed by YouTubers or travellers, typically seasoned with vinegar, sliced chili, diced onions, & a dash of salt.

First, tap the top of the egg with a teaspoon, the duck embryo with the 'broth' inside. Then, add the needed to enhance the flavour.

Its flavour resembles steamed chicken, but with more robust taste. The egg white is too hard to eat, but the yolk is watery though with the duckling head.

Mr Hubby tried once when he's at Philippines & he recommended to pair the balut with beer or a strongly flavoured beverage to cleanse the palate after eaten.
