🥟 Timeless Twist; Chicken & Century Egg Dumplings 🐔

Eating Lei Cha once a week, sometimes twice is my routine to detoxify my liver and intestines after indulging in rich and flavorful foods in the weekend.

Lei Cha, or known as Pounded Tea is considered Hakka healthy dish with various benefits; -

I. Rich in nutrients; from seeds to brown rice, a mix of herbs and nuts in the broth rich in antioxidants.
II. Detoxifications; the combinations of greens and herbs detoxify and support liver health.
III. Promote gut health; rich in high fibre promote gut health and regular bowel movements.
IV. Low fat and calories; light plant based foods hence suitable for weight management.

This time, I paired with their chicken and century egg dumplings. The chicken meats texture tends to be leaner and firmer also taste lighter, non greasy as well.

This Chinese eatery doesn’t serve pork, so most of the meat dishes on their menu feature chicken. Some customer came for their Lei Cha or Curry noodle.

Kthxbye.

🐔 Mongolian Sauce Chicken with Rice 🍚

They’ve added a budget-friendly meals option lately, chicken with rice and fried egg lunch sets.

I chose the Mongolian-style chicken since every restaurant has its own take on Mongolian dishes.

The sauce was light in colour and had a sweet flavour. It also came with a ‘sup kosong’.

The rice texture is not my ideal type and kinda rough. Anyway, the restaurant is comfy with air conditioned.

Kthxbye.

🥬 Lei Cha - Wholesame Hakka Dish 💚

Lei Cha, also known as Pounded Tea, is a traditional Hakka dish from Kuching. I’ve tried several versions in Kota Kinabalu, and my favourite is the one here.

The soup is truly the heart of this dish. I love its thick rich green broth, with a subtle hint of roasted peanut aroma that lingers on the palate. Make me want more.

The staff explained that their soup is made by blending a variety of vegetables and then cooking them as soup base. The staff will cook to reheat before serve.

The soup is served with minced fried egg, blanched vegetables and chopped long beans, lightly roasted peanuts, white sesame seeds, and brown rice.

My dad told me that many older people in Kuching eat this for its cleansing and detoxifying properties, as well as for religious reasons due to high antioxidants.

I noticed them filling takeaway cups with freshly cooked pumpkin sago, so I decided to buy one when I'm making my payment. It was warm and sweet. Lovely!

Kthxbye.

Three color pan mee

This shop is famous for lei cha and and Chinese healthy dessert.

A lot of chinese uncle aunty here during tea time. This time I order the three color pan mee. Taste nothing different from normal pan mee.

The place is small but clean. Sometimes those aunty uncle talk too loud you can't listen to your own conversation.

Overall the food is good and its worth it la.
