A restaurant from Sandakan recently expanded with a new branch in Kota Kinabalu, Taman Soon Kiong.
It offering a diverse menu featuring over ten types of pasta, pizza and baked rice dishes, along with kids' meals, desserts, and drinks at reasonable prices.
However, our dining experience fell short of expectations. Luckily, my brother had made a reservation a few days in advance to avoid disappointment.
When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling with customers. Some of them left shortly after they been told most of the tables are under reservation.
The wait for our food was long, likely due to the fact that the restaurant had just opened and was understaffed.
We ordered:
Chicken Parmigiana
Chicken Cordon Bleu
Curry chicken with baked rice
Stewed Chicken leg with rice
Valued meals
Kids meal
Hand shake iced lemon tea
Soup of the day: mushroom
Although the kids' meal was served quickly, however our main dishes and drinks took much longer to arrive.
Despite the dishes being well-presented, but the flavours were bland though and some had an unpleasantly tough texture like overcooked and super dry.
Nonetheless, the service staff remained professional, patience and polite throughout the dining experience, despite the challenging circumstances.
They offer free membership with every MYR 100 spent in a single receipt, and members can enjoy a one-time 25% discount during their birthday month.
Kthxbye.
