🥗 Itadakimasu Vibes, Oiishi Bites 🥢

This is officially my favourite Japanese spot. No pork on the menu, yet they’re serving excellence on every level: service on point, food consistently hitting, and this humble gem deserves all the stars and a shoutout.

I swung by recently to explore beyond the set lunch menu and went for the chasoba with assorted tempura set, plus an assorted sashimi salad for lunch. Honestly? I’ve got zero complaints—everything was on point.

The assorted tempura was lightly battered, super crispy and pale perfection that taste isn’t greasy at all. The sweet potato slices and shrimp stole the show, and I don’t even need to explain why, it’s worth every yen.

Chasoba held its own, the wakame and tenkasu added extra flavour, also giving the broth a subtle nutty and savory pop. Slightly sweet yet perfectly balanced, every slurp was just…itadakimasu-level satisfying~

The sashimi salad was a stunner—slices of butterfish, maguro, salmon and fresh catch of the day, paired with their housemade wafu dressing on the side. Genius move, especially if some aren’t into drowning the greens.

That dressing is Japanese-style vinaigrette with a touch of minced onion, sesame, vegetable oil, and soy—isn’t overpowering, but it hits your taste buds in the best possible way. My mouth’s watering just thinking about it.

Kthxbye.

🐟 Salmon Fins, Melted In The Mouth Magic ✨

Here I am return again at this humble little Japanese spot tucked inside the Damai Plaza, returning for their monthly lunch set offerings.

Today, I went for the Harabire Set—salmon fin kuwayaki, Ika squid karaage, a fresh garden salad with their housemade dressing, gohan and miso soup.

The place was packed with diners chasing the same monthly set, so I ended up at the sushi bar. No complaints there; it suited a solo lunch perfectly.

The salmon fin was pure indulgence. The fatty layer turned silky, buttery, and melting the moment it hit the tongue while the skin crisped up with a beautiful crackle.

If anything, it was the teriyaki glaze though, it leaned too sweet for my taste bud, anyhow the texture of the salmon’s fins itself made up for it.

The squid karaage delivered a solid contrast - tender inside, crispy outside, and lifted the whole bite with just a touch of lemon. Simple and clean.

A satisfying return, and definitely the kind of set that keeps people filling the room month after month. Looking forward for my next dine.

Kthxbye.

🐟 FLOUNDER-ful Lunch with QR Convenience 🍚

This Japanese restaurant is always buzzing with customers, especially during lunch hours—it’s a popular spot for office gatherings and family meals.

I was seated near the window entrance, which can feel warm, but I noticed they’ve recently done some light renovations, adding a wall divider near the entrance.

They’ve upgraded ordering system—you can place orders via QR code, making it convenient to browse the menu and availability without needing to call a server.

I went with a set meal that came with deep-fried flounder topped with mashed daikon and a sweet teriyaki sauce, crispy chicken karaage, and a bowl of miso soup.

The flounder was the star dish—the mashed daikon paired deliciously with the sweet sauce and tasted amazing with the fluffy white rice (I wish more).

The chicken karaage, though crispy, was a too salty this time, however it’ll be perfect with a lighter touch of seasoning next time. Overall, it was a delightful lunch.

Kthxbye.

🍤 Set C: Deep Fried Shrimps & Mayo Schemes 🥢

I want to try their new lunch menu promo—Set B. I WhatsApped them to check if it was available, they’re quick and polite responsive but sadly, it was already sold out. Hence, I ended up going with Set C instead.

Set C came with sashimi (red snapper, maguro, salmon, and butter fish), rice, miso soup, and prawns. The sashimi was fresh overall, but the red snapper slices had skin that was tough and basically unchewable.

The prawns were small, peeled and deveined, deep fried, then tossed in their house-made mayo. The mayo was on the sweet side—balanced with the miso soup. All in all, it was a decent lunch set meal.

Kthxbye.

🍣 Nigiri-zushi with Chicken Karaage Set 🥢

I'm intrigued by their lunch menu promotion after my several times of pleasant dining experience.

This time, I went with the Nigiri set, which included a set of Chicken Karaage, and I added a Miso soup.

The Nigiri set featured an assortment of sushi, vegetable maki, and tamagoyaki. My favorite was the Hamachi sushi.

I was wowed by the Chicken Karaage as it was perfectly deep-fried, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

They're currently offering a Merdeka promotion featuring salmon and curry rice, available for both dine-in and takeaway.

Kthxbye.
