After our visit to Doulos Hope, we headed over to Howdy Grillhouse, which situated on the ground floor behind Jesselton Quay.

This grillhouse has its roots in Kuching, Sarawak, & has expanded with 2 branches at Pontianak & Jakarta, Indonesia.

Upon our arrival, the restaurant was almost full, nevertheless, the polite waitress managed to get us a table.

The interior boasts meticulously & modern wooden design elements, creating a cozy ambiance with Texas style.

Here's what we've ordered:
Chick N Chips
Flame grilled 2 boneless chicken leg marinated with traditional 'kampung' spices, served with coleslaw, chips & Taliwang sauce

Grilled Pork Belly
Flame-grilled juicy pork belly slices served with mashed potato, veggie & St. Louis sauce.

Honestly speaking, both of us were drawn to the unique flavours of the sauce accompanied by rather than the main dishes themselves.

St Louis has robust smoky notes with a pronounced sourness, while Taliwang sauce starts with a sweet flavour then sambal-spicy like combination of flavours.

The veggies was salty but alright, however the onions rings color is vibrant orange colours battered hence it looks like chips & truly appetizing.

I realized the next day my main meal was not served with the mashed potatoes. Mr Boyfriend was unsatisfied with the size & texture of their fries as well.

The thin cut fries were overcooked, hence the texture was undesirable because achieving the perfect balance of cripiness & softness can be tricky.

I texted them about the mashed potato & misleading picture in their menu, their replies was the waitress failed to inform me when I placed my order initially.

So, guys, do y'all prefer your dishes served match the pictures in menu precisely, or just okay with whatever they serve alhough it's different but with the price value?

Kthxbye.
