Last time I visited, the space was rather limited, but they’ve since expanded the place, making the dining area wider and more comfortable to accommodate more customers. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and this time I decided to check out some of their other dishes.
I went for the grilled pork shoulder, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, alongside a side of vegetables. The pork shoulder was nicely grilled with a slightly charred exterior, and the mash potatoes with gravy added a comforting, hearty touch to the dish.
Mr Hubby opted for the pork burger, which came with lettuce, cheese, a fried egg and sweet caramelised onions. The pork patty had a mushy texture rather than a firm bite, while the caramelised onions brought a pleasant sweetness to balance the savoury flavours.
The fries were thin and super crispy, which I quite enjoyed. They had a nice crunch from the first bite to the last, although they were more about the crispiness than the actual potato flavour, there wasn’t much of that natural potato taste coming through.
Overall, it was an okay and pleasant revisit. The newly expanded space is definitely an improvement, and the grilled pork shoulder and crispy fries were okay for me. Not every element was a standout, but it made for a decent casual meal with Mr Hubby.
