I’ve been eyeing this café ever since I spotted their dine-out deals on GrabFood, so last week, Mr. Hubby and I finally went for an early dinner date.

First thing, the café is air-conditioned and pleasantly cosy, which deserves a little appreciation when the weather fiery outside these days.

I ordered the Gochujang Chicken with Rice and the Veggie of the Day, while Mr. Hubby went for the Salt & Pepper Fish Fillets with Rice.

Both rice plates came with refillable soup of the day and a sunny-side-up egg with that satisfying, oozy yolk. Anyhow, the food took a little while to arrive.

The Gochujang Chicken chicken was tender, coated in a sweet and mildly spicy gochujang sauce, and I just wished there were more chunks of chicken.

Well, the chicken-to-rice ratio could have been a little kinder. Mr. Hubby also found his fish fillet portion a little modest and didn’t feel full after finishing his meal.

Then came the Veggie of the Day — fashionably late when we were almost finished. It was served with oyster sauce and a very generous amount of fried garlic.

And when I say generous, the garlic really came to the party. Unfortunately, it ended up overpowering the vegetables rather than letting them shine.

Overall, a decent dinner date with a few hits and misses. Still, the cosy air-conditioned setting made it a comfortable place for a relaxed meal.
