This restaurant offers a delightful blend of authentic Chinese dishes tailored to suit local tastes. Their menu features high-quality noodles imported directly from China, paired with daily-cooked broth.
Besides that, the lady owner also highlights their locally made fresh pork dumplings and handmade wontons with her housemade dipping aged vinegar(陈醋)instead of regular local black vinegar(浙醋)
Mr Hubby is a fan of knife-sliced noodles, he ordered his with braised beef, which was tender. The knife-sliced noodles had a shape and texture more like regular flat noodles, which left my husband unimpressed.
Interestingly, a China man also voiced the similar complaint directly to the boss lady and leaving her speechless. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet the expectations for authentic knife-sliced noodles.
I went for the corn noodles with pork intestine and it arrived after my husband had already finished his meal. The lady owner explained that the dish required a special cooking method, which caused the delay.
While the wait was longer than expected, the noodles were cooked well and had a firmer and springy texture. The pork intestines were spot on with no hint of bitterness, which was a relief and truly enjoyable.
The fresh pork dumplings were a pleasurable treat, juicy with added the side dipping vinegar for a tangy touch on the pallet. Despite that, there are housemade marinated white radish pink cubes alongside the utensils.
I couldn’t resist indulging and ended up refilling twice, it were crunchy and refreshing. They offer a selection of local beverages, but I opted for the sour plum drink. It was served in a jar, enough to share for 3 people.
The overall dining experience was okay. The place is comfortable and air-conditioned. However, some dishes were unavailable. I was hoping to try their stir-fried pig’s blood, but it has been off the menu for months.
