Okay, real talk: I came for the satay, but I left thinking about the bread. 😂

First, the satay Jawa. The chicken ones are sweet, sticky and glossy red, with that slightly burnt edge we all secretly love, and the meat stays juicy inside. The beef ones taste deeper and more savoury, really well marinated, with a nice chew and proper char. Eat one chicken, one beef, one chicken, one beef... before you know it, the plate is gone and you're waving at the uncle for another round. 🤫

Then the roti. Soft, fluffy, cut into fat cubes, the edges a bit toasty. Dip it into the sauce, let it soak a few seconds, then put it in your mouth. Wah, don't play play. 🤤

No fancy plating, no air-cond vibes, just a solid kopitiam-style feed that hits the spot every time.

✅ Sweet chicken + smoky beef, big pieces 😋
✅ Bread for dipping (must order!)
✅ Easy to share, but you won't want to 🤪

Satay Jawa + Roti: Sweet, Smoky and Seriously Addictive 🍢🍞

If you love fish but hate picking out bones like me, this one's for you. I went for the size L boneless ikan baulu, and it's no joke: one big fillet that covers almost the whole plate. It's coated in a light, crunchy batter and fried until golden. The outside crackles when you bite in, and the flesh inside stays soft and moist. Best of all, you can eat it without stopping to fish out a single bone. With a portion this size, you could easily share it, or not, no judgement. 😄

It comes as a full set:

	•	🍚 Fried rice with egg, corn and carrot. Fluffy, not oily, and a good base for the fish.
	•	🥭 Kerabu mangga: shredded green mango that's sour, refreshing and cuts through the fried batter nicely.
	•	🥜 Tempe: sweet, spicy and crunchy.
	•	🌶️ Sambal with limau kasturi: tangy and a bit fiery. Squeeze the lime over the fish and thank me later.
	•	🍵 Clear beef based soup. Light and comforting, good to sip in between bites.

Verdict: A satisfying, generous plate that's great value for the portion. The fish is the highlight, but the sides make it a complete meal. Come hungry! 🥘

A Nice Japanese Dining Experience 🍜

Overall, a pleasant dining experience at Fumi Japanese Restaurant. The food was tasty and nicely presented, with a good variety of dishes to enjoy. The environment was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Service was good, and the prices were reasonable for the portion and quality. A nice place to enjoy Japanese food with family or friends. Would consider visiting again!
