BBQ Pork - Delicious Food, but Service Could Improve

Located on the 2nd floor via the Watson side door, this Korean restaurant serves some truly delicious food. The complimentary green chili, kimchi, and radish are all fresh and flavorful, but the real highlight is the BBQ pork. It’s savory, juicy, and pairs perfectly with the hot rice served alongside. The soup is also noteworthy, adding balance to the rich flavors of the meal, while the side dishes round everything out nicely.

However, the dining experience was let down by the service. While the waitresses seemed to be enjoying themselves, they were not very focused on their job. It took some time for our food to be served, as they were busy chatting in a circle. Though their cheerful energy was noticeable, a bit more attention to customers would definitely improve the experience.

That said, the food makes up for the distracted service. If you’re willing to be patient, the BBQ pork and overall meal are worth the wait.

1. Lava Ramen
The Lava Ramen lives up to its name—it’s extremely spicy, to the point where it overwhelmed the entire dish. While the flavor was decent, the overpowering heat made it impossible to fully enjoy. It reminded me of the fiery “ma la” spice used in Chinese cuisine, but without any option to adjust the spice level, it felt like too much. If they allowed customization of the spiciness, this dish would be much more enjoyable and easier to recommend. For now, it’s a decent ramen ruined by its unbearable heat.

2. Bunny pudding with sweet milk and crumbs
The Bunny Pudding was a delightful treat! The smooth, creamy pudding paired perfectly with the sweetened milk and biscuit crumbs, creating a dessert that’s rich, indulgent, and incredibly satisfying. It’s the ultimate comfort food for anyone with a sweet tooth. Hella delicious, and definitely worth a try!

LAVA RAMEN

	1.	Cold Cha Soba with Sides
This dish was a standout! The cha soba and raw salmon stole the spotlight here. The soba had a distinct tea-like flavor that was subtle yet refreshing, while the salmon was incredibly fresh, silky, and perfectly paired with the noodles. The fried sides were a delightful bonus—2 tempura and 2 sweet potato slices, all perfectly crispy. The marinaded pickles and radish added a nice tangy contrast, rounding out the dish beautifully.

	2.	Teppanyaki Oysters
At RM58 for three pieces, I was hesitant, but this dish completely blew me away. The oysters were unbelievably fresh, and the smoky teppanyaki flavor paired with the savory lemon and sauce was perfection. The fish roe on top added a luxurious touch, bringing the flavors together in every bite. While I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price, the taste alone made it an unforgettable experience—absolutely 10/10!

	3.	Soft Shell Crab Curry Rice
This dish didn’t quite live up to the others. While the soft shell crab was fine, the portion was small, and the curry sauce felt bland and watery. I would have preferred a thicker, more flavorful curry to complement the rice, which was served in a much larger portion than needed. However, as the most budget-friendly dish of the night, it had its place. With some tweaks, it could easily shine brighter.

	4.	Service
The service was absolutely phenomenal! The staff went above and beyond to make the night memorable, especially since it was my friend’s birthday. When the birthday song played, they extended it just for our table, and even sang a traditional Malay song wishing an extra year of happiness. The cherry on top? EVERYONE joined in—even the chefs! It was such a lively and heartwarming moment that truly made the celebration feel special.

High class cuisine in my opinion🫣

The crispy watanho is HEAVENLY !! So yummy so good. But perhaps my sauce wasn’t enough, chewing it cause my mouth to sore. (Tired) Plus it was in a BIG portion too !! I didn’t eat the cake but my family said it was slightly dry. The kopi however is nice. Not bad.

The carbonara was okay. The spice helped A LOT to make it edible. The mushrooms…eh…could be more cooked. The vanilla however was very bland. Personally i don’t like cinnamon flavoured drink so this is a downgrade for me. Overall it was okay. Last time i came i ate the rendang, it was hella delicious!! Also! Don’t eat the macarons!! 

Spicy Carbonara🍝 Hot Vanilla🥛

It was a memorable evening, sharing a farewell dinner with my colleagues and bosses. For my main dish, I ordered the Seafood Aglio Olio, which was flavorful but not extraordinary. The mussels were fresh, the prawns were perfectly cooked, and the pasta was seasoned well, but the portion was disappointingly small. Even as someone who usually eats lightly, I found myself still hungry. For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which was decent but not the best I’ve had—good, but missing that extra spark. On the other hand, the sweet potato fries were an unexpected highlight for me. They were crispy, sweet, and utterly delightful, though I seemed to be the only one who appreciated them, as others found them too sweet.

We shared a bottle of wine for the evening’s toast, and while it was fine, it wasn’t particularly memorable. The supposed “chill” was a letdown—it wasn’t cold enough to enjoy properly. Luckily, I paired my food with a classic cola, which ended up saving the experience for me. It was refreshing, balanced out the wine, and paired surprisingly well with the meal.

The service, however, could use some improvement. While the staff was polite, one thing stood out—the waiter asked us to pass our dirty plates to them. It’s a small detail, but it felt out of place for a proper dining experience. A little more effort and attentiveness, like simply walking around the table to collect the plates, would have gone a long way in elevating the service.

Overall, while the evening wasn’t perfect, it was still a special and heartfelt gathering. The atmosphere and company made up for the minor flaws, and the night served as a bittersweet reminder of the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

French burger sandwich 🥪 

Buffet was absolutely delicious 👍 However the free appetiser was quite bland🤥 VERY tasteless…accept for the pancake, that one was GOOD🤤

The service….well they didn’t really serve us😂 its more of a do it your own kind of thing. 

Floor is quite sticky tho….i dont think the cooking hood did anything at all….Overall with this service n whatnot….i guess its kinda worth it for Rm50🤔Just eat as much as u can👍

not bad for a Korean BBQ

This is a treat for yals taste buds during this perfect Christmas season! 🥨☕️✨ Creamy, chocolaty, and perfectly blended with a hint of coffee—BRO it is the ideal indulgence when anyone is craving something sweet with a salty twist. The whipped cream on top is heavenly, especially with the pink teeny biscuits. 🍪 

The pretzel finish may have been out of stock (oops!), but don’t let that stop yals—cause man, its absolutely delicious! 😍 A perfect afternoon pick-me-up, especially on a warm day. 🍹

Salted Pretzel Cocoa Coffee Frap🧋

The food is DELICIOUS!! Very savoury very smoky, each  consist very strong flavour and the sauce…OH MY LORD THE SAUCEE YALL SRSLY GOTTA TRY🤤🤤its like sambal and korean mix😛no cap🧢

The drinks we got plain water and did i mention that the water is FREE, cause HECK YEAHHH the water IS free😆 althooo~ they do include a 10% service charge so…….😳😬not much to say on that part but overall, delicious~😆👍, will definitely come again!!❤️🫶
