This is gonna be a lengthy post. Tbh, at this point, idek how many cups of GDC drinks I had by myself or with my sister. Just looking at this, I produced so much plastic waste 🤦🏻♀️ I'm embarrassed at the fact that I'm so not environmentally friendly, but I haven't been ordering any of their drinks as of these few months (cuz of the cases).
Fyi, I had these drinks when there was a peak in home based businesses. They started their home based cafe in November 2020, I've only got to try their drinks few months after they started. The list of drinks I've tried was between February 2021 - October 2021.
Btw, they do provide paper straw, if you have a tumbler, that'd be even better. Also, what makes GDC different is that they use milk ice cubes, so their drinks won't go diluted even when the milk ice cubes melt. If you don't like your drinks milky, you can just opt for regular ice 😉
1. Iced Americano
- Black coffee is always a good choice. Just what I need while running my errands. I like my americano more on the bitter end, some might taste acidic or fruity depending on the coffee beans they use, but still this matches my preference.
2. The Phoenix (Seasonal)
- It's basically orange juice + black coffee. I love the citrus acidity with the coffee together.
3. Iced Ajisai Latte (Niko Neko - Matcha)
- The nuttiness taste of the Ajisai 🤤 it's perfect for people who likes matcha but don't want it too bitter.
4. Iced Suisen Latte (Niko Neko - Genmai)
- This tasted like roasted rice tea. Not my preference, but it's good to try something different.
5. Matcha-presso
- I get so indecisive when I love matcha just as much as I love coffee. So why not have both right? 😂 They did a really good job in balancing both matcha and coffee together, without losing either one of its flavour.
6. Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte (Seasonal)
- Not a fan of this seasonal drink. I mean it looks pretty, but taste-wise, the strawberry kinda ruined the matcha. A+ on bravery and curiosity for me to try.
7. Iced Blueberry Cheesecake Latte (Seasonal)
- It's actually coffee beans with a hint of blueberry taste to the coffee. The blueberry legit only a mild hint. I tasted more cheesecake tbh, the taste just slowly builds up, but I still prefer my coffee black 😂
8. Iced Matcha & Hōjicha Latte (Niko Neko - Yuri & Tsubaki)
- I always prefer matcha over houjicha. My sister always prefer houjicha over matcha 😂 I like the bitterness of the matcha. Houjicha tasted roasted but both are just as good actually.
Overall, I only got to try more of their matcha drinks. Hope to try other drinks of their menu some other time 😌 Please take note on the amount for average spent per person. Their drinks are between RM 7 - 14, depending on what you order, their menu price list is on their IG. Don't say I didn't tell you ah.
