Very Kaw Bak Kut Teh

Klang style bak kut teh in kk. The soup is very kaw and i like it. They got 2 types of soup, the first one is made with their meat, so much more flavour, the addon soup taste more light. Their meat portion and quality quite good xia.

Will come back if i want bak kut teh.

Better than most I’d say

Tasted like it should. Ordered ribs original herbal Bak Kut Teh. 油條went very well with it. Too much oyster sauce on the veg (should have asked for the sauce on the side). Innards good but I found the stomach too chewy, and the soup base was peppery which was fine. The herbal tea was come ce com ca.

Clean shop much better than others in kind.

The Head person (owner lady?) was very keen and didn’t really listen to what we wanted to order. Otherwise a better score would have been given.

Decent value.

Klang-style Bak Kut Teh in KK

Perfect comfort food for rainy evenings 🌧🥰

🍲 Original BKT Soup RM12 + Dry BKT Rm14
Soup was thick and rich, closest to the Klang BKT you can get here in KK. Pork intestines were well cleaned, pork cut (fat & lean) were tender and juicy. Soup can be quite little, but you can always ask to add on. Dry BKT has a strong and heavy flavour, makes it a good pair with rice 🍚

🥬 Lettuce + Oyster Sauce RM9
I personally prefer the romaine lettuce (last pic) over the iceberg lettuce (3rd pic) due to its softer texture. I like how the crispy fried garlic on top adds an aromatic flavour to the vege 😋

🥖 Yu Char Kway RM2
Not as crispy, but acceptable.

The service was good and fast during two of my visits here. Definitely my current go-to BKT restaurant in town for now!

Klang Bakuteh

As a first timer eating here and first time tasting klang bkt, I can’t comment much whether it’s really nice or not.

But I can comment base on my personal taste as I ordered the klang style bkt and the normal bkt (soup base). Their taste isn’t strong like our local one, not very “yok coi” taste, and the portion was alright but actually consider small? (Still I can’t comment much cuz it’s my first time eating “klang bkt”.)

Few things to take note of is, the meatball it’s not chewy & the owner said it’s chewy not many flour, but both my husband and me tasted it like not very chewy, so normally when it’s not chewy you know it’s mostly flour and less meat.

Then the meat we ordered is lean meat cuz pai kut was out of stock, and the meat was nice, they are considerate about whether we eat fats or not so we said not really hence they gave us mostly lean meat (thank you boss) 🤭

Lastly, a lot of ajinomoto, I’m kinda sensitive with food with over aji, the after effect is SUPER THIRSTY! Which is what I’m facing now. 🫥

Now that I’ve tried here I’ll def go klang and try the real one! Lol then I’ll do a second comparison whether is this close to klang or not 😂

Somehow I still prefer the Sabah bakuteh taste 😊
